SMEs and MSMEs in AlUla harness local talent, natural resources and the cultural landscape. The pillars of RCU's plan for the SME sector are: The Hub represents a unique launch pad for new businesses into an economy that will be both transformative and responsive to the demands of other businesses directly supporting the tourist industry and locals alike. A further 45 business will also be uplifted in terms of business skills. Throughout the coming 18 months the throughput of "initiation" individuals will be around 700 people. In the past three months these businesses have created 15 new jobs, started receiving investment and developed more than 15 partnership agreements from event management services to honey production. Of these 60, 15 have undergone deep-dive support as they evolve into newly strengthened businesses. The SME hub has been used to train around 80 budding entrepreneurs in a range of first-step business principles and a further 60 micro and small businesses. The goal of the space is to activate and enable AlUla's entrepreneurial ecosystem through the provision of shared mentorship, programmes, services and office spaces. The Royal Commission for Al-'Ula has concluded a partnership agreement with Ferrandi-Paris School to provide cooking training courses to chefs of ALUla. In 2019, 156 students, preparing for bachelor, master or PhD, are enrolled in the program that aims at enabling Saudi youth in general and residents of Ula in particular to work in the flourishing area. Under this scholarship, students study subjects related to the areas of hospitality, tourism, agriculture, archaeology and heritage. The RCU organizes a scholarship program where many Saudi students are sent to different universities in USA, UK, France and Australia. the major components of the agreement were associated with the cultural, heritage, natural, tourism, human and economic development of Al-'Ula and including preservation and planning of the archaeological and architectural heritage. On April 10, 2018, an agreement of cooperation was signed between Saudi Arabia and France to develop the site and transform it to a cultural site with the purpose to open the site to the regional and international visitors.
